The ProCare Group, a leading healthcare provider, is today pleased to announce that Kaipara Medical Centre, one of its Elevate programme practices, has transitioned into clinician ownership.
This marks an exciting continuation of ProCare’s core Elevate Strategy.
The sale, which settled on Friday 27 February 2026, sees ownership transferred to three well‑established members of the Kaipara Medical Centre team: Dr Kathryn Elcock, Dr Tomos Longworth, and Practice Manager/Nurse Jo Reid.
Supporting the transition of practice ownership to clinicians has been a foundation of the Elevate Strategy. The transition at Kaipara Medical Centre reflects ProCare’s commitment to that vision, enabling practices to move into clinician‑led, owner‑operator models.
Jonathan Duncan, Chief Commercial Officer at ProCare says: “This is an exciting continuation of our journey and a strong example of the Elevate model in action.
“Kaipara Medical Centre is a high‑performing practice with a capable and committed leadership team. Supporting its move to clinician ownership builds on the strengths that are already in place and sets the practice up well for the future,” continues Duncan.
Through ProCare’s ownership and support, Kaipara Medical Centre has benefited from investment, operational support, and broader network capability, helping create a stable and sustainable platform for care delivery. The move to clinician ownership builds on this foundation, ensuring continuity of leadership and care for patients, staff, and the wider community.
The incoming owners bring extensive experience and strong local connections; Dr Elcock, Dr Longworth and Nurse Jo Reid have worked at Kaipara Medical Centre for several years and are already trusted leaders within the practice, with established relationships across the patient base and community.
Dr Tomos Longworth, GP at Kaipara Medical and incoming owner says: “Taking on ownership of Kaipara Medical Centre is a genuine privilege for us. This community means a great deal to our team, and we are committed to ensuring the practice continues to thrive as we provide consistent, compassionate, and reliable care to our patients. The support we’ve had through ProCare and the Elevate model has set us up well, and we look forward to leading the practice into its next chapter together.”
Bindi Norwell, Chief Executive of the ProCare Group says: “As the new owners are already deeply embedded in the practice, this transition supports continuity and confidence for both patients and the team.
“General practice needs sustainable ownership pathways and Elevate was designed with that in mind. The transition at Kaipara Medical Centre shows how thoughtful investment, support, and succession planning can lead to successful clinician ownership, while maintaining stability for patients, staff and communities,” continues Norwell.
ProCare will continue to work closely with Kaipara Medical Centre during the transition period, and the practice will remain part of the ProCare Network, ensuring ongoing access to shared services, clinical leadership, and peer support.
The sale also reinforces ProCare’s broader commitment to supporting sustainable ownership pathways across general practice, particularly at a time when clinician leadership and succession planning remain key priorities for the sector.
Looking ahead, ProCare remains open to further Elevate opportunities where they align with its long‑term strategy and the needs of practices, clinicians, and communities.
