Auckland Women's Centre Inc

Auckland Women’s Centre provides a safe, inclusive space offering support, education, affordable counselling, and community programs to empower women and promote equity, safety, and well-being. Their services include drop-in support, personal growth courses, advocacy, and outreach for rangatahi, single mothers, and LGBTQ+ communities, alongside initiatives like a women’s library and low-cost therapies. The Centre works to reduce isolation, build confidence, and create opportunities for women to thrive in Tāmaki Makaurau. 

2025 funding highlight

Auckland Women’s Centre expanded its low-cost counselling service, increasing student counsellors, enabling earlier intervention for women facing hardship and isolation.

Babystart Charitable Trust

BabyStart is an Auckland-based charity that provides free baby boxes filled with essential items, such as clothing, nappies, bedding, and care products, to families facing hardship, helping ensure newborns are safe, warm, and cared for. Inspired by Finland’s baby box tradition, each box also includes a mattress so it can be used as a safe sleeping space. Distributed through midwives and social workers, BabyStart prioritises whānau at risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI) or experiencing material hardship, aiming to reduce stress for parents and support healthy beginnings for babies.

2025 funding highlight

Babystart Charitable Trust provided 200 high-needs whānau with comprehensive baby care packs, focusing on equity and moving closer to its goal of reaching Auckland’s newborns.

Dance & Arts Therapy NZ

Dance & Arts Therapy NZ in Auckland is a charitable organisation that delivers dance movement and creative arts therapy programs to improve mental health, emotional well-being, and social connection for children, youth, and adults, including those with disabilities or experiencing trauma, through expressive, non-verbal approaches that foster confidence, resilience, and healing.

Garden to Table Trust

Garden to Table is an Auckland based charitable programme that takes learning out of the classroom and into the garden and kitchen, teaching tamariki to grow, harvest, prepare, and share fresh, seasonal food. Working with schools and kura, it equips thousands of children with practical life skills, food literacy, and an understanding of sustainability, while fostering confidence and teamwork. Integrated with the national curriculum, the programme links gardening and cooking to core subjects, and every session ends with a shared meal, encouraging healthy eating habits and reducing food waste. In 2024 alone, over 34,000 students across Aotearoa, including many in Auckland, prepared more than 1.3 million vegetable-based meals, supported by educators and volunteers.

2025 funding highlight

Garden to Table Trust reached 88 schools and 9,000 tamariki, teaching practical skills in growing, harvesting, and cooking fresh kai, and sharing learnings at home with whānau.

Orange Sky NZ Ltd

Orange Sky in Auckland operates bright orange vans that provide free mobile laundry and shower services to people experiencing homelessness or hardship. Beyond clean clothes and hygiene, their mission is to create a safe, welcoming space for conversation and connection, helping restore dignity and reduce social isolation. They partner with local organisations to reach communities in need, and their volunteers play a key role in running the service and building relationships. Since launching in 2018 and expanding with a second van in 2021, Orange Sky has become one of the busiest support services in the city.  

2025 funding highlight

Orange Sky Aotearoa now runs 33 shifts weekly in Auckland, offering laundry, showers, and connection to those experiencing homelessness, uplifting dignity and mana.
