The rapid directive for general practices to move to virtual consultations during the strictest Alert level of Covid-19 has resulted in many patients becoming converts to the new way of seeing their GP.

In its fifth year, the ProCare Charitable Foundation (the ProCare Foundation) has reached a milestone of donating more than one million dollars to charities in Tāmaki Makaurau, with the confirmation just under $280,000 has been approved to support nine charities in the 2019 ProCare Foundation grant round.

More than 200 people turned out to celebrate this year’s successful Aiga Challenge, a community-based eight-week weight loss programme.

In a bid to vaccinate more Aucklanders ahead of the flu season, a ProCare practice took immunisation to a new level offering vaccinations at a language school in their area.

This month 12 General Practices from across New Zealand were officially certified Health Care Homes, in the inaugural certification for this new model of care. The Health Care Home model is designed to ensure primary care remains fit for the future; able to cope with increasing demand, an aging population and workforce challenges whilst at the same time delivering improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.

More than 80 people from around New Zealand turned out to a mental health workshop last week (Thursday 5 April) to hear early stage learnings from the implementation of ProCare’s stepped model of care for mental health.

The new offices, in Ellerslie and Rosedale (North Shore), were opened with a traditional Maori blessing by John Marsden.
