NZ Doctor - There is still life in the old practice model
A tiny sole GP practice in Auckland’s Mangere East beat competition from some of Auckland’s biggest medical centres to be named the top performer in the annual ProCare quality awards.
GP John Upsdell (72), who has been running Dr Upsdell’s Surgery for 32 years, and describes himself jokingly as a “dinosaur”, scooped the Medtech Supreme Award at a lavish ceremony at Eden Park on 1 December.
