This free/low-cost to serve HR and Recruitment services to general practices includes end-to-end permanent and locum recruitment for GPs, nurses and any general practice-based role. It also offers comprehensive HR consultancy (nearly all of which is provided free of charge) to ensure practices have well set up people policies and processes, are well-structured and operate optimally. The GPEP workforce support programme sees ProCare act as the central, permanent employer of a range of GPEP2s and GPEP3s, providing them to practices of choice to progress their crucial training years. Throughout the programme ProCare provides a host of wraparound support both with dedicated clinical governance and education, including supervision from an experienced GP educator. In addition to increasing the pipeline to ProCare practices, the purpose of this is to ensure a good experience for the trainees and completion of their vocational training, so we have qualified GPs able to provide comprehensive services and practice at the top of their scope. We also provide support with broader business and employment training as needed, as well as a comprehensive benefits package for the GPEPs. 

This programme takes experienced nurses from other facets of healthcare, who have an interest in getting into practice-based nursing and gives them fully paid training for a four-week period, in an established practice. This programme also sees these nurses receive the necessary extra training and certifications, in order to be a fully contributing member of the general practice team. This programme is run at no extra cost to the practices.

A tripartite agreement between ProCare, General Practice New Zealand (GPNZ), and Auckland PHO as part of a partnership internship supported by TupuToa. TupuToa provides pathways for Māori and Pacific students and graduates to develop as leaders in their fields. 

ProCare Fresh Minds has been appointed, alongside Tāmaki Health, for Te Whatu Ora’s Psychologist Intern Hub Services for 2024 and 2025. The Intern Hub is based at Fresh Minds’ busy central Auckland clinics, and at one of Tāmaki Health’s sites, and sees the interns working in various clinical settings across Tāmaki Makaurau. 

The internships are available for students in any University in Aotearoa who are undertaking their final year of post-graduate training in either Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology. We currently have students from the University of Auckland, AUT, and University of Wellington. 

Fresh Minds is firmly committed to grow its team of psychologists, nurses, and other allied health professionals, with experience in third-wave talking therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Additionally, the organisation is passionate about delivering targeted talking therapies and is also flexible in meeting interns’ needs in their university programmes. There will also be opportunities for ongoing professional development relevant to the role of a psychologist working in our settings.
