What to expect when you join us

ProCare is committed to being a health employer of choice and we believe it is important to support new employees with a full induction programme.

Our Working Relationship (OWR)

Once an employee accepts a position, we aim to keep in regular contact over the period before your first day.

We will send you a full employment pack which forms the basis of "Our Working Relationship (OWR)". It not only includes your contract, but explains your position, forms to return for IT, social clubs and Kiwisaver, and tells you more about ProCare, our culture, and the teams you will be working with.

It also includes our company's "Blue Print" publication (PDF, 600kb), which describes ProCare’s OWR principles- noting in plain English our mutual obligations and respective rights:

  • The ProCare Shared Values included in our OWR have been developed in consultation with staff. These values guide our behaviour and thinking. Each value statement includes associated behaviours and examples. They describe how you can expect to be treated, and what others will expect of you.
  • ProCare’s code of conduct is expressed in statements of “Mutual Expectations”. The Mutual Expectations place obligations on both employees and the company to ensure that both act in a manner that enhances the interests of ProCare and the OWR.

ProCare Staff Satisfaction

At ProCare we work hard to create a positive working environment. We review staff's sentiments each quarter with a Culture Check, which then guides us to review policies or implement new procedures. We take staff's input seriously and encourage an open forum with our CEO and senior management team. ProCare believes strongly in a work/life balance and we try to support our staff in their sport, community and charity commitments. Our social club also organises group opportunities for our staff to get involved in charity work on behalf of the organisation when they can.

Development Opportunities

When a position becomes available, we always look ‘within’ first to identify staff ready for a new challenge. All staff have a Personal Development Plan (PDP), and it is through these we encourage individual growth.

Induction and 90 Day Feedback Loop

New employees are also given a full induction programme after starting on their first day which includes meeting the other teams, training where needed on the organisation's systems, and where possible, visits with practices. After 90 days or three months in the job, we hold a formal feedback session to gauge feedback on any concerns or thoughts.
